Student Life

At Desert Heights, school is about more than what happens in the classroom. Student life gives our Coyotes opportunities to build friendships, discover new interests, celebrate accomplishments, show their school spirit, and create memories along the way.

From kindergarten through senior year, students experience activities, events, traditions, athletics, clubs, performances, and celebrations designed for their stage of school. As students grow, so do their opportunities to get involved, lead, and make their mark on the Desert Heights community.

Growing Up a Coyote

One of the things that makes Desert Heights unique is our connected K–12 community. Students can begin their journey with us in kindergarten and continue through high school graduation, experiencing new traditions and opportunities at every stage.

While our Charter and Prep campuses offer experiences designed specifically for their students, we are one Coyote community. School-wide traditions, spirit events, performances, athletics, family events, and celebrations give students and families opportunities to stay connected throughout their years at Desert Heights.

K–5 Student Life

For our youngest Coyotes, student life is about making school exciting, welcoming, and memorable. Throughout the year, students participate in spirit days, classroom celebrations, field trips, recognition events, family activities, performances, and special campus traditions.

These experiences give students opportunities to build friendships, celebrate their accomplishments, and develop a sense of belonging within their school community from an early age.

Middle School Student Life

As students enter middle school, they have more opportunities to explore their interests, become involved on campus, and build independence.

Students can participate in athletics, clubs, performances, field trips, spirit activities, socials, academic events, and other campus experiences. These years give students the opportunity to try something new, connect with their peers, and begin discovering the activities and interests they may want to continue into high school.

High School Student Life

High school brings even more opportunities for students to get involved and make their Desert Heights experience their own.

From athletics, clubs, fine arts, and student leadership to dances, spirit weeks, Homecoming, academic celebrations, field trips, and senior traditions, students have opportunities to connect with their classmates and school community throughout the year.

As graduation approaches, senior experiences celebrate how far our students have come and the memories, relationships, and accomplishments they have built during their time as Coyotes.

There’s More to Experience

Student life looks a little different for every Coyote. Some students find their place on the field or court. Others find it on stage, in a club, at a school event, through leadership, or simply by participating in the traditions that bring our community together.

However they choose to get involved, our goal is for every student to have opportunities to connect, participate, and feel proud to be a Coyote.
