Before & After School Programs
Kindergarten - 4th Grade
Offered by Desert Heights Preschool, there are many benefits to enrolling your child in our before and after school programs, and students kindergarten-4th grade are eligible to enroll. Children will have plenty of time to make new friends, sing, play, explore, learn, and laugh–all under the supervision of our fun, skillful, educated staff. It is a peace of mind for our parents and a wonderful experience for your children.
Play is one aspect of our before and aftercare programs, the other is the most important…learning. Desert Heights Preschool provides an academic aftercare program for your child. Our teachers assure our students are receiving social development, emotional development and academic learning. It is our goal to guide your child through making positive choices, developing new friendships, and learning how to work alongside others.

- Before Care: Monday - Friday, 6:00 – 7:45 AM
Students enjoy their morning with our trained staff playing games with friends, enjoying time outside on our playground, and are given time to work on unfinished homework. Students are escorted across the parking lot to the Charter School at 7:45 AM to enjoy time with their peers prior to the start of school.
- After Care: Monday - Friday, 3:00 – 6:00 PM
In the afternoon our trained staff meets students at their designated area and escorts them to the cafeteria to enjoy a healthy snack (menus available at the preschool). They are allowed time for homework, recess, and other teacher led activities. Note: Closure dates are listed on the preschool's school year calendar.
- After Care: Early Release Friday's from 1:00PM-3:00PM
Students are supervised following dismissal by a DHCS staff member until 3:00PM. This is intended only on Friday's in which Desert Heights has an early release. Please click here to view the contract!
Study Skills Program (5th - 12th Grade)
Desert Heights Preparatory Academy offers a before school and after school program for working parents of our 5th-12th grade students. The program provides a safe, and structured environment from 6:00am-7:10am for before care and 2:30pm – 6:00pm for aftercare Monday-Friday during in-session school days. Note: We also provide aftercare for those families that need care for early release Friday's ONLY from 12:30pm-2:30pm. - Beforecare - $7/day or $35/week.
- Aftercare - $12/day or $60/week.
- Friday Aftercare Early Release - $5.
