6-8 Athletics
DHPA Middle School Athletics is for students in grade 6-8. Students are prepared for our Varsity Sports, by our very talented coaches and staff. DHPA is a participant of Arizona Charter Athletic Association. Sports are broken down by Quarters throughout the year.
Students at DHPA may select from a number of sports that take place throughout the school year. Please note that participation on the majority of these teams is limited and athletes are selected through evaluation during a try-out period.

DHPA requires all 6th-12th grade student-athletes to use Register My Athlete for athletic paperwork. Register My Athlete allows families to quickly register and ensure all student documents are submitted to the school.
Quarter 1 Sports Season is from August 1st to October 1st.
Our Middle School Baseball program is for 6-8 students and we are always impressed by this team. Our young Coyotes work hard and are pushed to develop skills to prepare them for our Varsity program. We instill work ethic, competitive nature, and team with each player and love to watch how they evolve each season. Coached by alumni Tyson Hinckley, these students are prepared with what it takes to be a Varsity Athlete next!

Our Middle School volleyball program promotes learning the fundamentals for volleyball and is a part of the Coyote Volleyball Family. The girls attend and support Junior Varsity and Varsity volleyball games and cheer on their sisters. In the 6-8 level we focus on rotation and overhand serving. Our philosophy is PROGRAM!
Coach Krogmeier builds the foundation in these young ladies, so they know what to expect as they grow up in the volleyball family. These young ladies are so fun to watch and we can't wait to see them this season!

Quarter 2 Sports Season is from October 3rd to December 10th
A new addition to our quarterly 6th-8th grade sports was 7v7 Passing League. Our players work to develop fundamental skills of football, and dominated this year.

Don’t miss an opportunity to come out and watch our softball team! Middle School Softball made it to the playoffs in 2018 and continue to bring the heat. Our program (6-8) allows these young athletes to learn foundational skills while developing the understanding od hard work and commitment. Our teams grow and develop into our varsity players over the four years and we can't wait to watch them this season!

Quarter 3 Sports are ran from December 12th to March 4th.
Following right from Passing League season into Flag Football, we had an amazing group of boys that werent afraid to put in the "hard work." Our coaches work hard to instill principles in these students that they will need to have at the next level with our Varsity Football program. You do not want to miss a game from our incredible Flag Football team!

The Lady Coyotes basketball program is quickly becoming a force to be reckoned with! Our lady coyotes are preparing for the season as well as the transition into the Varsity program. We are always so proud to see these ladies grow and develop into strong defenders. Believe me, you don't want to miss these ladies fight for a title!

Quarter 4 Sports are ran from March 6th-May 14th.
Our Co-Ed 6-8 Soccer program was highly encouraged by our students to begin again. We had a lot of participation, and our students worked extremely hard last season. We are excited for the energy they will bring this upcoming year!

DHPA Middle School (6-8) Basketball program offers a competitive team that works all season to win a State Title and a fundamental team that works on the true steps of fundamentals. Many times it is a chance to get our fifth and sixth graders the chance to learn and play more games in the season vs older kids. We believe that competition should not be equal and if you want to be the best, you have to play up and against the best as you develop.
These young men are the future Coyote program and every year they have ended in the top 12 out of 24-36 teams. We will continue climbing and can't wait for next season!
