Summer Book Report 

The DHPA Summer Book Report is designed to help students maintain and strengthen important reading and writing skills over the summer while preparing for the expectations of the upcoming school year. Students entering 6th–12th grade will read a novel of their choice and complete a book report project based on the options provided for their grade level. This assignment allows students to practice key skills such as reading fluency, comprehension, analysis, and written communication while also becoming familiar with the type of book reports they will complete during the school year.

All students should:
• Read one novel of their choice
• Complete one project from the provided options
• Submit their completed book report to their ELA teacher by September 1st.

Each grade level section below includes the specific project expectations and options for that grade.
