Having worked in education for 3 decades has awarded me a unique opportunity to see how young minds change and evolve. Being able to play a small part in their social, emotional, and academic growth and development continues to be a motivating factor in creating a special experience for our students and families at Desert Heights Charter Schools.

I have always wanted to help others, especially kids, and teaching was how I felt I could do that. I taught Junior High History for several years before becoming an administrator. I very much enjoy working with kids of all ages and seeing them grow and develop, Desert Heights has become my family’s second home, and I am truly thankful for this amazing community!

As I reflect on my 24+ years of being an educator, I realize my work is the epitome of that belief because it means contributing to the growth and development of people, providing the platform for their success. I had amazing teachers who uplifted and empowered me. Ultimately, I am in education so I can pay forward all of the great experiences I had…and continually help others to rise.

I’ve spent the past 12 years in education because I believe deeply in the power of connection, growth, and purpose. I’ve always been drawn to leadership, supporting others, and creating spaces where people feel seen, supported, and inspired to reach their full potential. Education gives me the chance to do that every day. Seeing students grow in confidence, overcome challenges, and discover their own strengths is one of the greatest rewards of my career. My goal is to leave a lasting impact by building an environment where every student feels valued, capable, and empowered to thrive—not just in school, but in life.
