COVID and Campus Updates

Last month, the Maricopa County Department of Public Health began providing COVID-19 self-test kits to districts, charter schools and private schools. Desert Heights submitted the necessary documentation to receive the new Over-the-Counter BinaxNOW Rapid COVID-19 Test with the goal of possibly minimizing COVID-19/close contact cases that result in unnecessary distance learning and time away from campus for our students (and staff). In support of this mitigation effort, our Governing Board unanimously approved this schoolwide initiative of offering tests to students on campus, provided that said student has a permission slip on file denoting that permission to administer the COVID -19 test on campus has been granted.
